Wilma Jean Baker
SUMMER SHADE Wilma Jean Baker, 82, died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Glenview Health Care Center.
Born in Metcalfe County, she was the daughter of the late Joe C. and Myrtle Withers Sims. Mrs. Baker was a retired cook for NHC Healthcare Center and member of the Westwood Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, George; one son: Hessel Baker (Linda) of Camner; two daughters: Sherry Free Johnson (Charles) of Glasgow and Gloria Kell (Leslie) of Franklin; eight grandchildren: Debra Outler (Ranzy), Dena Hagan (Chris), Stacy Johnson, Jennifer Dobson (Josh), Jessica Baker, Melissa Conley (Mike), Lindsey Bradstreet (Houstin) and Derek Kell; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Wayne Sims of Munfordville, Joe Layne Sims and Jerry Sims, both of Gallatin, Tenn.; two sisters: Alma Jean Harvey of Darlington, Ind., and Daisy Gassaway of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandchild, Angela Michelle Baker.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Randolph. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at the funeral home.

Sarah Ellis (Agers) Dismon
FOUNTAIN RUN Sarah Ellis (Agers) Dismon, 93, born Oct. 14, 1915, died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Glenview Health Care at Glasgow.
She was born in Monroe County. She was the daughter of James J. Agers and Vianne Gregory Agers. Mrs. Dismon was a member of the Old Baptist Church in Fountain Run.
Survivors include one son: Charles Dismon (Brenda); two daughters: Virginia (Dismon) Russell (Kenny), Linda (Dismon) Murley (Bobby); eight grandkids, 11 great-grandkids, five great-great-grandkids.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred H. Dismon; and two great-grandsons. She was also preceded in death by 10 brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Hughes Funeral Home, Fountain Run. Burial in Fountain Run Cemetery. Visitation is after 2 p.m. Monday. Preacher, Brother Tim Eaton; pallbearers Joe Dismon, Danny Dismon, Terry Dismon, Eugene Russell, Andy McMurtrey, Darren Russell and Wesley Dismon.
Mildred Wilborn Emberton
TOMPKINSVILLE Mildred Wilborn Emberton, 92, died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.
She was the daughter of the late John Alvin Wilborn and Cedelia Mae Wiley Wilborn and wife of the late Elvin Thomas Emberton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today (Monday) at Strode Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in White Cemetery, Monroe County.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in the form of donations to Poplar Log Baptist Church.
Patsy Jean Ford
HORSE CAVE Patsy Jean Ford, 64, died Friday, April 10, 2009, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
She was the daughter of the late James Emmitt Thornton and the late Annie Verda (Ford) Thornton. Survivors include her husband, Edward Lee Cookie Ford.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Woodsonville Baptist Church with interment in Woodsonville Memorial Gardens in Munfordville. Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 13, at Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, and at Woodsonville Baptist Church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
Virginia Sue Grooms
BOWLING GREEN Virginia Sue Grooms died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at The Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Truman and Clarine Landrum Grooms.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 13, at 2 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, Summer Shade, with burial in Bushong Cemetery in Monroe County.

LAFAYETTE, Tenn. Joe F. Hire, 90, a resident of Knollwood Manor, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Knollwood Manor.
Funeral services for Joe Hire will be conducted Tuesday, April 14, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, Lafayette, Tenn., with the Rev. Don Rhoads officiating. Inerment will follow in Haysville Cemetery. The Graham Lodge No. 208 F&AM from Scottsville will perform Masonic Rites on Monday at 7 p.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation with the family will begin Monday from 4 until 9 p.m. and continue Tuesday until service time.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Hire of Lafayette; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Pat and husband Leland Hargis of Lafayette; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and wife Marilyn Hire of Glasgow; grandchildren: Nathan Hire of Glasgow and Crystal and husband John Nix of Florence, Ala.; and two great-grandchildren.
The family has asked memorials in the form of donations be made to the Highland General Baptist Church, Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church or Haysville Cemetery.

GLASGOW Margaret Nell Starr, 96, died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

GLASGOW George Fred Stilts, 66, died Friday, April 10, 2009, at his residence. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.
