GLASGOW — James Garfield Holloway, 85, died Monday, March 10, 2008, at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was born in Monroe County, the son of the late William Herbert and Ada Page Holloway. The Barren County businessman was the founder and Chairman of the Board of Glasgow Building Supply with interests in real estate and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Kentucky Saler Cattleman’s Association, the Barren County Cattleman’s Association, the Masonic Lodge, Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce and a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served with valor and honor under General Montgomery in the European Theatre with the 8th Army, 809th Tank Destroyer Unit. Survivors include his wife, Olive Maxie Carter Holloway; one son: Jimmy Holloway and wife Janet of Glasgow; two daughters: Wanda Mabry and husband Marvin of Somerset, and Rhonda Cormney and husband Ben of Richmond; six grandchildren: Wesley and Cameron Holloway, Greg Bushong, Kyle, Gabe and Regan Cormney; two great-grandchildren: Hannah and Conner Jordan Bushong; and one brother: William Eugene Holloway of Louisville. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008, at the South Green Street Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Monroe County with military honors provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home beginning at 5 p.m. on Tuesday and after 8 a.m. on Wednesday. Visitation on Thursday will be from 9 a.m. until time for services at the church. www.crowfuneralhome.com Mildred J. Howard SCOTTSVILLE — Mildred J. Howard, 87, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Cal Turner Extended Care Facility. She was the daughter of the late William Elzie Jackson and Sophia Gatewood Jackson and wife of the late M.C. Howard. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at Goad Funeral Home, Scottsville, with burial in the Fountain Run Cemetery. Visitation begins at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. Drexel James Wood EDMONTON – Drexel James Wood, 70, died Monday, March 10, 2008, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was the son of the late Jessie and Gertrude Ubank Wood. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Wood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral Home.
