A Glasgow man is charged with murder following an apparent assault that resulted in another man's death, according to the Barren County Sheriff's Office.

Anthony Jinkins, 44, was arrested Saturday night by the BCSO and charged with murder following the death of Sheldon Saltsman, 37, of Glasgow. According to the sheriff's office, witnesses at 266 Carden Road on Saturday afternoon said Jinkins attacked Saltsman and struck him several times in the head. When deputies arrived at about 4:11 p.m., Saltsman was unresponsive on the floor and was later pronounced dead at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

Jinkins is being held at the Barren County jail on a $250,000 bond, according to the jail website. An autopsy was performed Sunday at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville, and results are pending, according to the sheriff's office. The investigation is ongoing.
