Barren County man, 2 Hart County men arrested

GLASGOW —

A Barren County man was arrested Sunday and charged with driving under the alcohol, drugs, etc., 0.08, first offense after the Barren County Sheriff's Office responded to an accident on Tompkinsville Road, according to a BCSO report.

Stephen E. Milam, 42, of Eighty Eight was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for suspected injuries, according to the report, but while on the scene, deputies detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, so a preliminary breath test was done while at the hospital and the suspect gave his consent for a blood test as well.

Milam was released Monday from the Barren County Detention Center on a $500 unsecured bond.



In other law enforcement action, two Hart County men were arrested Thursday on manufacturing methamphetamine and other drug-related charges, according to a Hart County Sheriff's Office statement.

The HCSO executed indictment warrants on David W. Smith, 42, and Charles L. Polston, 38, both of Bonnieville. Each had a manufacturing meth charge and were both charged with complicity to manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and complicity to possession of marijuana. Polston was also charged with being a persistent felony offender, according to the statement.

They were both lodged in the Hart County Jail – Smith in lieu of a $25,000 cash bond and Polston in lieu of a $100,000 cash bond, according to the statement.
