No trial set for E. Livestock

EDMONTON — It was an anticlimactic court appearance Tuesday morning for the Eastern Livestock case, as attorneys simply set another conference date instead of scheduling a trial.

Assistant Attorney General F. Todd Lewis told Metcalfe Circuit Judge Phil Patton that attorneys on both sides of the case “anticipate a resolution” that may not require a trial, but they needed a few more weeks to iron out the details. Patton accepted the delay and put the case back on the docket for March 27 at 9 a.m.

“We will return the fourth week in March and at that point we’ll determine if we need to set a trial date,” Lewis said after court.
