Stinnett’s civil suit against BCSO postponed

GLASGOW — Proceedings in the lawsuit being fought in federal court between a man arrested by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office and members of the office have been postponed until the federal charges against the BCSO members have been resolved.

The suit of Billy Randall Stinnett vs. Chris Eaton, Aaron Bennett and Eric Guffey was stayed by a judge in the United States District Court of the Western District of Kentucky at Bowling Green, according to documents filed May 14.

The ruling comes after a motion by federal attorneys to intervene and stay the civil proceedings “pending resolution of the parallel criminal prosecution of defendants Eaton, Bennett and Guffey,” court documents stated.
