Museum receives pieces of history

Area residents donate family mementos

GLASGOW —

The uniform Jack Wayne Carter wore while serving his country during World War II is now part of the Monroe County History Museum’s collection.

Carter’s daughter, Frances Stoops, donated her late father’s uniform.

“It has been hanging in our closet and I thought it would be something Daddy would have wanted,” Stoops said.

Carter, who died in November 2002, served in Germany from 1943 to 1945.
