Local agencies to receive federal grant money for aid programs

GLASGOW — All three agencies that applied for federal grant funds to supplement emergency food and shelter programs will receive a portion of the $16,412 allocated to Barren County.

The grant was announced Oct. 21 through a press release, and applicants’ deadline was Nov. 1.

A national board determines the total amount each location gets from the funds appropriated by Congress and then places the responsibility of further distribution with a local board.
