Driver continues husband’s legacy

GLASGOW — Betty Driver, founder of the Bobby Driver Scholarship Fund, said she decided to start raising money for teaching scholarships because of a love story that was cut too short.

Her and her husband, Bobby, were married for about three decades at the time of his passing. He had frontotemporal dementia, a disease related to Alzheimer’s.

Bobby was a teacher and a coach for 30 years at the Barren County and Glasgow Independent school districts. He believed education was paramount in a person’s life, Betty said. She wants to continue his legacy through the fund.
