KNOB LICK — Lizzie Irene Poynter, 87, of Knob Lick, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at NHC Health Care in Glasgow. She was the daughter of the late Corbett and Estell Edwards Byrd.


She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Pierce, of Knob Lick and Martha Poynter, of Edmonton; two step-daughters, Carolyn Judd, of Cave City and Bonnie Mills, of Glasgow; brother, Sam and wife Helen Byrd, of Knob Lick, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Allen Poynter; three brothers, Cecil, Luther, and William Byrd; two sisters, Pauline Bailey and Florence Oswalt.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Buck Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
