Jake Dickinson considers run for mayor

GLASGOW — A Glasgow businessman and former city council member is contemplating running for mayor.

Jake Dickinson issued a press release Monday afternoon stating he was forming “an exploratory committee for his potential candidacy,” even though he cannot begin filing paperwork with the Barren County Clerk to seek election to the office until Nov. 6.

Dickinson, who has worked as an insurance agent and consultant for more than 35 years, specializing in employee benefits, said he is interested in seeking the mayoral seat because of his personal beliefs.
