Students learn about life-saving techniques

GLASGOW —

Caleb Smith, a fourth-grader at Austin Tracy Elementary, cries out when Scot Smith, RN, with T.J. Samson Community Hospital, places a cold red solution on his arm to imitate blood. Though it was a funny sight to many of Caleb’s classmates who laughed out loud, Smith hoped they’d take the first aid lesson to control bleeding seriously because it’s possible one of the children in the classroom may be placed in a similar emergency situation.
