3 file suit against state

Deadly construction collapse at issue

GLASGOW —



Three individuals, including the widow of a man killed in a highway construction incident, is suing seven employees of the Department of Highways District 3 office in Bowling Green.

On Oct. 8, 2012, Kenneth Decker was an employee of Vanmeter Contracting Inc., a subcontractor of Scotty’s Contracting & Stone, which was a subcontractor of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, according to an investigative report completed by Kentucky Labor Cabinet personnel after a fatality inspection. The work was part of the Burkesville Road reconstruction project.
