8:53 MORNING UPDATE: GPD look for suspects

GLASGOW — Glasgow police officers are looking for suspects in connection with several complaints about vehicles being broken into Saturday night at the Marquee Cinemas on Happy Valley Road.

The thieves broke out the windows of at least five automobiles to gain entry and then stole purses that had been left inside, according to a Glasgow Police Department press release.

There were also two vehicles broken into across town behind Gondolier Restaurant. A purse was stolen from one of those vehicles and a tablet was taken from the other, the press release stated.

Glasgow Police Chief Guy Turcotte is strongly advising everyone to not leave anything of value in their vehicles. Several of the purses that were stolen Saturday were covered over and were not visible through the windows of the vehicles, but in many cases that just makes the thieves more curious about what's being concealed, the press release stated.

Anyone with information about the thefts and criminal activity is asked to contact the Glasgow Police Department at 270-651-5151.
