Park City Commission considers radar gun for deputy

Glasgow Daily Times

Park City commissioners are considering the purchase of a radar gun to curb motorists from speeding through town.

Deputy David Houchens with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, who patrols Park City, spoke to commissioners about the problem with speeders and the idea of buying a radar gun during their meeting Tuesday night.

“I can’t enforce something I can’t prove,” Houchens said, adding a radar gun would provide proof in court that motorists are speeding, justifying the reason for traffic stops. “Without a radar it’s impossible to enforce.”
