BOUNTY OF THE BARRENS: Groce Greenhouse has peak produce at market

GLASGOW —

They were grouped by color.

They came in robust red, citrus orange and every color in between.

The colors of the tomatoes popped against the checkered burgundy tablecloth.

At the Groce Greenhouse and Produce booth at Bounty of the Barrens Farmers Market, individuals will find varieties of produce, such as homegrown tomatoes, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, eggplants, sweet candy onions, sweet and hot banana peppers and bell peppers. They also grow many melons: watermelons, cantaloupes, honeydew, sweet mohican melons, canary melons and sprite melons.

Sue Elmore, a helper at Groce Produce, said that watermelons are at their peak right now.
