Romney campaign plans fundraiser in Lexington

Glasgow resident Ky. Republican finance chair

FRANKFORT — Anne Romney, wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, will headline a fundraiser for the Romney campaign and Republican Party on Wednesday evening in Lexington.

The fundraiser will take place at Stonestreet Farm located on the Old Frankfort Pike beginning at 5:30 p.m. Stonestreet is the thoroughbred farm purchased in 2005 by the late Jess Stonestreet Jackson, a world renowned vintner, maker of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay. Stonestreet Farm produced Curlin and Rachel Alexander, both named Horse of the Year and each a winner of the Preakness.

The fundraiser is hosted by the Jackson Family, Joe Craft and Kelly Knight. Craft and Knight are the finance chairs of Romney’s Kentucky campaign and Knight was featured at the Republican National Convention announcing delegate votes by each state delegation.

Knight confirmed the fundraising event Tuesday to CNHI News.

“Yes, she will be joining us tomorrow night at Stonestreet Farm,” Knight said.

Craft and Knight also hosted a fundraiser in Lexington last fall for Romney’s primary campaign, an event attended by Romney and several high-profile Kentucky Republicans.
