Man loses his legs, not his faith

GLASGOW — He lost his legs five days after his dairy farm started running again.

Gary Rock’s Hodgenville farm, which has been in his family since the late 1700s, stopped operating for several weeks after it was partially destroyed by a tornado.

One evening during the last week of August, Gary did something that he did for the past three decades, so it wasn’t new to him. He was using his corn chopper to cut corn for his cows to eat. But this time, he made a mistake, he said.

“I got my leg too close,” Gary said.

The chopper was in a parked position during that time, but the components of the machine were still turning, he said.
