GLASGOW —

The Walmart in Glasgow was closed for more than five hours Tuesday morning while police investigated the possibility an explosive device was placed on the property.

The Glasgow Police Department was notified at 4:40 a.m. of a call indicating the Glasgow Walmart was the target of a possible bomb threat, according to Julie Ann Williams, public affairs officer for GPD.

“Appropriate measures were taken, including the store’s being evacuated of employees and customers,” she stated in a press release.
