Tompkinsville tax rate gets first reading

GLASGOW — Tompkinsville city commissioners voted unanimously on first reading Tuesday to take the compensating tax rate for real and personal property.

The proposed tax rates are 27.6 cents per $100 assessed value for real estate and personal property, an increase of $1 in real estate taxes and $9 in personal property taxes from 2012.
