10:57 MORNING UPDATE: Metcalfe County man dies as result of Tuesday shooting

GLASGOW —

A Metcalfe County man who was shot Tuesday morning died at approximately 1 a.m. Wednesday as a result of injuries sustained from the gunshot wound, according to a state police press release.

Ronnie Hiser, 58, of Edmonton was flown by medical helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital after the incident and had remained critical condition through Tuesday evening after surgery had been performed earlier in the day, Trooper Billy Gregory, public information officer for the Kentucky State Police in Columbia, had stated.

The suspect in the case, William D. Chesher, 63, of Louisville remains in the Barren County Detention Center and has now been charged with murder, according to the Wednesday press release.
