Three injured in Cave City crash

CAVE CITY — At least two people were injured in a wreck that occurred around 6 p.m. Saturday on Grinstead Mill Road in Cave City.

Juan Hernandez Mendoza, 29, 910 Old Edmonton Road, Glasgow, was traveling east on Grinstead Mill Road when the vehicle he was driving entered a curve at great speed and slid into the front end of a 2001 Ford F150 traveling west driven by Gregory S. Esters, 46, 552 Farmers Road, Cave City, according to a report from the Cave City Police Department.

Mendoza was transported to Caverna Memorial Hospital, while Esters and a passenger in his vehicle, Jacob Esters, 14, of 552 Farmers Road, Cave City, were transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital by the Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Medical Services, according to the police report.

Gregory S. Esters and Jacob Esters were treated and released, according to a T.J. Samson Community Hospital spokesperson.

A spokesperson at Caverna Memorial Hospital said they could not release information regarding Mendoza’s condition.
