GLASGOW — The Cave City City Council agreed Monday night to check into the possibility of supplying natural gas to property located on the west side of Interstate 65.

The council agreed to do so after listening to a concerned citizen / business owner.

Joe Zaffuto, who owns Joe’s Diner, addressed the council about the issue and shared with council members that he had already spoken to officials with Atmos Energy.

“We were told Atmos supplies gas in this area and we were told KU [Kentucky Utilities] also is a supplier,” he said. “We checked with Atmos and they said they had no intention of going on the west side.”

Making natural gas available to residents and businesses owners located on that side of the interstate would be beneficial not only to them, but also to attracting future businesses to the town.
