Glasgow man arrested after two-county pursuit

BOWLING GREEN — A Glasgow man was arrested Saturday after he led law enforcement agencies on a two-county pursuit when they attempted to apprehend him for a probation violation, according to a Kentucky State Police press release.

At 3:34 p.m., the Department of Probation and Parole contacted the Glasgow Police Department regarding the whereabouts of 23-year-old Westley T. Graves, who was wanted for a probation violation, according to the KSP statement. GPD Officer Brandon Fletcher made contact with Graves and attempted to apprehend him when Graves stole the vehicle he was in and left the Walmart parking lot. Fletcher and GPD Sgt. Mike Burton pursued Graves on Ky. 90 toward Cave City, according to the KSP statement.

The officers were able to temporally stop Graves on the north entrance ramp to Interstate 65 in Cave City, according to the KSP statement. Burton exited his marked cruiserl, and Graves attempted to run over Burton, and Burton fired four rounds from his issued service weapon, but Graves was not struck and continued north on I-65, according to the KSP statement.

GPD had contacted KSP at 3:43 p.m., and KSP became involved in the pursuit at I-65, and Graves struck Master Trooper Jonathan Holbrook’s marked KSP cruiser with his vehicle, according to the statement. Trooper Daniel White was able to end the pursuit when he used legal intervention on Graves’ vehicle causing him to strike the concrete barrier wall on I-65 near the 70 mile point in Hart County, according to the statement.

Graves was treated for minor injuries at Caverna Memorial Hospital and arrested on the charges:fleeing and evading, first degree, and four counts of wanton endangerment, police officer. Additional charges are pending.

KSP Sgt. Jaman Childers is leading the ongoing investigation.
