GLASGOW — With the filing of a downward departure motion on Friday, the government has officially requested that former Barren County deputy Joseph Adam Gene Minor be sentenced at the low end of a 0-6 months incarceration guideline for his part in a federal deprivation of rights investigation.

Minor was indicted along with Barren County Sheriff Chris Eaton, deputy Aaron Bennett, Barren-Edmonson drug task force detective Eric Guffey and deputy Bobby McCown in February 2012 for allegedly using excessive force when arresting Billy Randall Stinnett on Feb. 24, 2010. The officers were charged with deprivation of rights under color of law and lying to federal investigators, as well as some additional charges for Eaton.
