Ten indictments were returned by a Monroe County grand jury Wednesday against four people.
Those indicted are:
• Jame T. Elmore, 45, murder by use of a motor vehicle. The grand jury alleges that on or about June 11, 2011, Elmore wantonly engaged in conduct which caused the death of Angela Ervin when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree while under the influence of a controlled substance or alcohol;
• Doyle D. Turner, 43, failure to illuminate registration plate, possession of drug paraphernalia and first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. The grand jury alleges that on or about July 15, 2012, Turner failed unlawfully used or possessed methamphetamine, a controlled substance analogue, lysergic acid diethylamide or phencyclidine and drug paraphernalia. He also allegedly failed to illuminate his registration plates;
• Brandon Gearlds, 29, two counts of fourth-degree assault, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacturing methamphetamine and first-degree possession of a controlled substance. The grand jury alleges that on or about Nov. 12, 2012 that he intentionally or wantonly caused physical injury to Shelia Gearlds when he struck her in the hands and that he intentionally or wantonly caused physical injury to Tim Gearlds when he struck him several times with his elbows. The grand jury also alleges that Brandon Gearlds knowingly and unlawfully possessed with the intent to use drug paraphernalia and manufactured methamphetamine on Nov. 29, 2012 when he possessed more than two or more chemicals or pieces of equipment used for the manufacture of methamphetamine. The grand jury further alleges that Brandon Gearlds knowingly and unlawfully possessed methamphetamine on Nov. 29, 2012;
