Finance Committee hears from dept. heads about budget needs

GLASGOW — Most of the big-ticket, wish-list items requested by city department heads are not going to get funded in the coming fiscal year, according to the conversation at the Glasgow City Council Finance Committee meeting Tuesday.

The committee, which normally meets the fourth Tuesday of each month, had a special meeting this week to finish up its budget discussions. Fire, public works, cemetery, and parks and recreation department heads had already made their presentations at prior meetings. On the agenda this time were police, communications, Plaza Theatre, administration and storm water.
