1:52 AFTERNOON UPDATE: Two injured in collision

EDMONTON — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision approximately 6 miles west of Edmonton on Saturday, according to Kentucky State Police.

Bobby Vibbert, 42, of Edmonton was traveling west on U.S. 68 in a 2006 Pontiac, when he lost control of his vehicle on the wet road, crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with an eastbound 1995 Dodge pickup, according to the KSP statement. Vibbert and a passenger, 14-year-old Benton Vibbert, were wearing seatbelts and were transported to T.J. Sampson Community Hospital in Glasgow with minor injuries, according to the statement.

The Dodge was operated by 64-year-old Billy Coomer of Edmonton. He and a passenger, 12-year-old Tyler Coomer, were wearing seatbelts and were not injured, according to the statement.

Trooper Jonathan Paull is investigating. He was assisted at the scene by Barren-Metcalfe EMS and Edmonton-Metcalfe fire department.
