GLASGOW — A driver and one of his passengers were transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital on Sunday evening, after he lost control of the 2004 Saturn he was operating on a wet roadway, according to a Barren County Sheriff’s Office statement.
The driver, 17, of Hodgenville, told emergency responders he was traveling north on Lecta-Kino Road, and as he entered the curve just before the bridge that goes over the Louie B. Nunn/Cumberland Parkway, the vehicle lost traction and slid out of control, striking the end of the bridge, according to the statement. The Saturn “continued to spin out and slid to the west side of the bridge before coming to a stop,” according to the statement.
The passenger transported is a 15-year-old male, of Glasgow. Juveniles’ names are not released. Another passenger, Darlie E. Davis, 65, of Naples, Fla., was not injured, according to the statement.
In addition to the BCSO, the East Barren Volunteer Fire Department and Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Medical Service were the other responders.
