A Glasgow man flown by helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital after an accident Monday evening was in fair condition Tuesday.

Cody A. Crowe, 20, of Glasgow is believed to have been driving south on South L. Roger Wells Boulevard in 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt LT and may have disregarded a red traffic light, according to a Glasgow Police Department preliminary report. Anne H. Upchurch, 30, of Glasgow told police she had been traveling east on Cleveland Avenue in a 2002 Dodge Caravan and was turning north onto L. Roger Wells with a green light but noticed the light change to yellow and saw Crowe’s vehicle approaching “too fast,” according to the report.

Crowe’s front driver’s side struck the center of the driver’s side on the van, ejecting a juvenile passenger in the rear seat onto the roadway, according to the report. Injury to the ejected female child, for which no other identifying information was released, was listed as nonincapacitating and in the head/face area on the report, which also indicated a safety restraint was available but not in use. Another female juvenile was in a child safety seat and was not injured; Upchurch was wearing a safety belt, according to the report.

The accident remained under investigation, as officers had not had a chance to interview Crowe.
