GLASGOW — Two people were arrested over the weekend in Cave City on DUI charges.
Johnny Lovell, 53, of Glasgow, was arrested and charged Saturday with DUI, first offense, and possession of a controlled substance by Cave City Police Officer Jason Morgan.
Morgan was notified around 8:20 p.m. Saturday of a possible intoxicated person leaving the KFC restaurant in Cave City.
Morgan pulled Lovell over on Happy Valley Road. Lovell said he was under the influence of a controlled substance, which were located in his vehicle prior to him being transported to the Barren County Detention Center, according to a Cave City Police Department press release.
Lovell was released from jail Sunday morning, according to the jail's website.
Later that same night, at about 10:57 p.m., Rick Howard, 50, of Glasgow, was pulled over by Morgan for an equipment violation.
Howard told Morgan he had smoked marijuana, and it was determined Howard was under the influence of drugs. He was arrested and charged with DUI, first offense, and for having only one headlight. He was taken to the Barren County Detention Center, according to the press release.
He was released from jail Sunday morning, according to the jail's website.
