Arrests made by Barren County Sheriff's Office in Whitney Woods home invasion case

GLASGOW — Three people have been arrested on multiple charges following a home invasion that occurred on Whitney Woods Road on Feb. 28 at approximately 9 a.m., according to a Barren County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Through a joint investigation with the Glasgow Police Department, Adam J. Bryant, 36, of Edmonton, Roxanne N. Whitlow, 32, of Greensburg, and Stuart Hodges, 31, of Glasgow, were arrested and charged with; kidnapping (with serious physical injury), first-degree burglary, first-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence.

Charges stem from the home invasion after all three subjects planned to rob Freddie Smith at his residence on Whitney Woods Road, according to the BCSO release. Smith was attacked at the doorway and then tied to a chair with an oxygen cord. After being tied to the chair, Smith was hit several times in the head with a hammer.

Subjects burglarized the home, leaving with a safe, gun and an undisclosed amount of cash. A neighbor discovered Smith after hearing his cries for help and called 911.

All three subjects admitted to being involved in the planning and execution of the home invasion, the release said.

Glasgow police were also investigating a home invasion that occurred the night before on Olivia Drive. The two incidents were believed to be connected. Through the investigation with the police department, it was determined that the two home invasions were committed by the same subjects. All three subjects were charged in both home invasions.

“The Barren County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Glasgow Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division for their help with this investigation. Through the cooperation of the Glasgow Police Department, the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police this case was solved,” the release said.
