Women find new calling on the airwaves

GLASGOW — Carol Perkins and Susan Chambers never dreamed they would someday become radio personalities, but they have.

They do the weekly “Carol and Susan — Unscripted” show for WHSX-FM “The Hoss” on 99.1.

Use of the word “unscripted” is fitting for the duo, because Chambers said that’s exactly what the show is.

“We have no script,” Chambers said. “It’s just basically whatever comes to mind and conservations with people.”

During the show, they talk about things that are unique to Metcalfe County and interview local folk, as well as those who grew up in the county but have since moved away.
