GLASGOW — Teresa Matthews Boone

GLASGOW – Teresa Ann Matthews Boone, 49, of Temple Hill, died Wednesday June 19, 2013, at her residence.

She was born on Nov. 18, 1963, in Glasgow, to the late James G. Matthews and Dorothy Shaw Matthews, of Glasgow, who survives. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Ethan Boone, of Temple Hill; two sisters, Melissa Buckley and husband Steve, and Sherry Carver and husband Robert, both of Temple Hill; two brothers, Randall Matthews and wife Toni, of Temple Hill and Allen Matthews and wife Robin, of Merry Oaks; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and four great-nephews also survive.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Colton Matthews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Violet June Haiduc

GLASGOW – Violet June Haiduc, 88, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Barren County Health Care in Glasgow.

A native of Louisville, Ohio, she was a homemaker and a member of Saint Helen Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Nick Haiduc; four children, Nick John Haiduc Jr. and wife Dawn, of California, Stephen Haiduc and wife Cindy, of Florida, Mary Eubank and husband Jerry, of Glasgow and Elayne Malone and husband Steve, of Glasgow; six grandchildren, Nick John Haiduc III and wife Lisa, and Scott Haiduc and wife Ruth, both of California, Stephen Haiduc Jr., of Ohio, Miranda Deaton and husband Zach, of Kentucky, Ginger Ervin and husband Miles, of South Carolina and Natalie Eubank, of Kentucky; and five great-grandchildren, Dalton, Hudson, Lauren, and Gavin Haiduc, and Blake Deaton.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until 2 p.m.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the Boys and Girls Club of Glasgow/Barren County, P.O. Box 1935, Glasgow, Ky. 42142-1935.

Elmer Norris

CENTER – Elmer Norris, 83, of Center, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at his home with his loving family around him.

He was a Barren County native, was saved by the grace of God at home at an early age and was a longtime member of Rock Spring Baptist Church, a retired mechanic and auto body repairman and a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Dorinda Bailey Norris; six brothers, David, Depp, Delmer, Wendell, Eugene and Herbert Norris; a grandchild, Alex Bass.

Survivors include his wife, LaVerne Edwards Norris, Center; two daughters, LaVetta Jessie and husband Roy, Center and Sonya Bass and husband Jeff, Glasgow; three grandchildren, Leticia Poteet and husband Larry; Felicia Stinson and Devin Bass; two step-great-grandchildren, Brittany and Shelby Poteet; two sisters, Earline Holman, Glasgow and Susie Jeffries, Louisville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at Winn Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22,­ with burial to follow in Center Cemetery with full military honors by the D.A.V. Chapter #20 of Glasgow.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from noon to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
