Deputy graduates from academy

GLASGOW — David Houchens made history in the Barren County Sheriff’s Office last week as the department’s first police academy graduate.

“We’ve all gone to police academy, but we were all hired in (after having the training),” Sheriff Chris Eaton clarified. He has usually tried to hire graduates so they can “hit the ground running.”
