New pavilion attracts more business to shopping centers

GLASGOW — While the T.J. Health Pavilion has been hailed for its convenient one-stop-shopping for outpatient services, the increased traffic is also attracting new business to the area.

The pavilion officially opened on May 20. One the first day alone, the new pavilion treated about 390 patients. Since then, Larry Glass, partial owner of the Barren River and Festival plazas, said he expects to have both plazas filled to capacity in 60 to 90 days.

“It's pretty easy to see what's making the difference,” Glass said.

Glass said when negotiating with businesses for a spot at either plaza, he uses demographic research to see if there is a want or need for the vendor's product or service. Most importantly, Glass said he invites business owners to view the space.

“When they look at the site and see the traffic, they are much more willing to make a deal,” he said. “It's made a huge difference.”
