Tax board receives no appeals

Just about the only job the Tax Appeals Board for Barren County had at its meeting Friday was to review the assessments for properties owned by the property valuation administrator and his staff to make sure they were fair.

“We don’t have any appeals this year,” PVA Brad Bailey told the two of three board members who were present along with Joanne London, who serves as recording secretary because she is Barren County clerk. Board member Janis Turner was absent. This was to be her last meeting in her three-year term, London said.

While some property owners did have questions about changes in their tax bills, those instances were all resolved through conferences.
