Hospital changes hospitalists again

Forms inpatient medicine specialist program


T.J. Samson Community Hospital officials are confident the third time will be the charm with their new, internalized hospitalist program.

T.J. Samson started utilizing hospitalists close to three years ago, chief financial officer Tony Sudduth said, and while the program has offered great medical care and eased the burdens on local primary care physicians, it has not been a complete success.

“We’ve struggled, honestly, to get it to meet our expectations and the expectations of our patients,” Sudduth said.
