Shirley family grows together on farm

GLASGOW —

On a four-acre plot of paradise outside Hiseville, Brian and Sarah Shirley are busy teaching their growing boys the value of hard work, making what they need and sticking together as a family.

As Growing Boys Farm, they sell year-round produce, flowers and heirloom tomatoes at Bounty of the Barrens Farmers Market. As the Shirley family, they are simply living a life they enjoy, which happens to be built on sustainability and self-reliance.
