A nearly 50-year-old section of Glasgow Baptist Church has been getting a facelift.
In the Education Wing built in 1965, walls have been knocked out and one new one built, floors have been scrubbed and waxed, some walls painted, a few ceiling tiles and wall sockets replaced, and chalk boards replaced with white write-on-wipe-off boards. Finishing touches such as new area rugs give the finished rooms a homey feel.
What had been 13 rooms along one side of a hallway are now four large and two small rooms. The remaining painting there is pending scheduling of volunteers. Three large rooms on the other side of the hall didn’t have to be reconstructed, just spruced up in the other ways.
