No deal reached for Hostetler in Crain death case

GLASGOW —

An attempt to work out a plea deal in the Daniel J. Hostetler case in Hart County was unsuccessful, which means the case will move forward to trial.

Hostetler, 20, was in Hart Circuit Court on Friday afternoon for a pretrial conference. He is accused in the death of Brandon Crain, 19, of Munfordville, and faces charges of first-degree manslaughter and tampering with physical evidence.

Earlier in the day, Hostetler appeared in court for a competency hearing and was found competent to stand trial.
