People who fly United Airlines during the month of December will learn more about Glasgow and Barren County thanks to an advertisement in a new publication called Dossier Kentucky.
Members of the Glasgow-Barren County Tourist and Convention Commission agreed on Tuesday to place an advertisement in the magazine that will be placed in pockets on the back of airplane seats.
Ann Stewart, marketing director for the tourism commission, explained the magazine will feature a different state each month and that the tourism commission’s advertisement will appear in the first magazine about Kentucky.
“It will reach 12.5 million travelers during the month of December,” she said.
In addition, the advertisement will be featured on two different websites for a year, plus the tourism commission’s website, the airline company’s website and the state’s economic development website.
The tourism commission will receive the advertisement at a reduced rate because the state will help pay 50 percent of the cost. It will cost the tourism commission $1,700.
