11:27 MORNING UPDATE: Casey Co. woman dies

COLUMBIA — A Casey County woman,  49-year-old Debbie Cooper, passed away early Monday morning as a result of injuries sustained in a house fire.  

The Kentucky State police is investigating the fire, which occurred on Saturday at approximately 5 p.m. at 270 Napier St. in the city limits of Liberty.

 Cooper was flown to University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington for treatment of her injuries.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined but foul play is not suspected. Kentucky State Police Arson Detective Alex Wesley is investigating. Detective Bradley Stotts is assisting with the death nvestigation.
