Key dates in Election 2014*

GLASGOW — Nov. 6, 2013

First day candidates can file to run for office.

Dec. 30, 2013

Last day to change political party registration and still be able to vote in the primary. Anyone who changes their party after this date but before the primary will not be allowed to vote in the primary under any party.

NOTE: This date is normally Dec. 31, but the Kentucky secretary of state's office will be closed on this date, so local clerks would not be able to change the party in the system, and many, if not all, county clerk's offices will be closed as well.

Jan. 28, 2014

Last day candidates can file to run for office.

Jan. 30, 2014

Public drawing for ballot position in primary races.

April 21, 2014

Last day to register to vote in the primary.

May 20, 2014

Primary Election Day

May 27, 2014

Voter registration resumes.

Oct. 6, 2014

Last day to register to vote in the general election.

Nov. 4, 2014

General Election Day
