Couple makes beautiful art together

GLASGOW — Bob and Carol Shoop have turned their basement into an artists’ studio, which they share.

The studio features space large enough for Bob to paint and for Carol to quilt on a frame.

“When we designed the house, we decided we wanted to design it the way we live, so we designed our own studio,” Bob said.

The Shoops moved to the Glasgow area to retire about two years ago from Vancouver, Wash. The couple had previously lived in central Illinois, but moved to Washington when the company Bob worked for transferred him. The Shoops moved into their new house near Barren River Lake less than a year ago.
