Glasgow property tax rates may not change

GLASGOW — Glasgow property tax rates will not change this year, provided that city council members don’t change their minds between now and their next meeting, and there’s no sign of that happening.

Glasgow City Council unanimously passed the first reading of an ordinance setting the rates during its regular meeting Monday following a public hearing on the issue. The rates were set to be the same as last year’s, which was the recommendation of the council’s finance committee.

No member of the general public attended the hearing; the few people in the audience were either city department heads or members of the media.
