Even as a child, Terry Jackson always had a fascination with history, but it wasn’t until he researched his own family history that he developed a great appreciation of learning about the past.
His pursuit of the his heritage began in 2004 when he was asked to research his church history for the 200th anniversary. While looking into the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Roseville, he found familiar names of his forefathers, who were also members of the church. The insight inspired and intrigued Jackson to find out more.
Since Jackson is a veteran, he was particularly interested in his tracing his family’s military heritage. Jackson entered into the U.S. Air Force in July 30, 1965 at Louisville. He was sent to the Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas for six weeks of basic training.
