Metcalfe County magistrates discuss moving courthouse offices

GLASGOW —

Metcalfe County magistrates have given the county judge-executive permission to explore a business opportunity.

Magistrates met in closed session Tuesday morning for about an hour. After resuming their open session, they voted to allow Judge-Executive Greg Wilson to talk to the owner of a building on West Stockton Street in Edmonton that houses  Edmonton Primary Care, a physician’s office, about either renting some space or selling the building to the county.

Magistrates are interested in learning if it would be cost feasible to relocate offices that are still located in the historic Metcalfe County Courthouse offsite to another a building.
