Bats creep out many people when they see them fluttering across the sky at twilight.
But the little, furry mammals are actually very valuable because they eat insects.
Information about bats and their importance to the ecosystem will be shared Saturday, which is when Mammoth Cave National Park will celebrate International Bat Night.
“We initiated Bat Night in the summer of 2011 and visitors really love it,” stated Sarah Craighead, superintendent of the national park, in a press release.
