The fourtth To the Brim food drive will Sept. 4-7 and organizers are seeking support.
Food pantries managed by the Community Relief Fund in Glasgow and Pathfinders in Cave City benefit from the food drive.
According to Dr. Bharat Mody, a To the Brim volunteer, hunger is an ever-present problem statewide. He recently quoted a Louisville Courier-Journal article that stated there are 75,000 people across the state who don’t know from where their next meal is going to come.
“Mostly it affects our children,” Mody said. “Twenty-five percent of our children, at one time or another, go hungry and many times they depend on backpack food.”
